Global Courses

Stanford Global Studies makes learning about and engaging with the world an integral part of a Stanford education.

Each year, we support hundreds of language and globally-focused courses. We also offer Course Innovation Awards to faculty members, which support courses that creatively offer ways for students to learn about topics of regional and global importance.

Global 101

Global 101 is the gateway course for the global studies minor. In this introductory course, students explore global themes that span international borders, such as health, development, migration, and security. This course encourages students to think comparatively across major world regions, and to work on issues that integrate specific regions within the larger international community.
