Stanford Libraries, Hoover Institution Gather Thousands of Archival Materials on Iran

Stanford has amassed thousands of Persian books, official documents, letters, multimedia pieces and other materials related to Iran’s history, politics and culture.

The collections, held at the Stanford University Libraries and the Hoover Institution Library & Archives, were expanded after the Iranian Studies program was established under the leadership of Professor Abbas Milani.

New Research Initiative Will Study the Development of Iran's Economy

The Iranian Studies Program at Stanford launched a new initiative, called the Stanford Iran 2040 Project, that will produce research and analyses on Iran’s economy.  

A new research initiative at Stanford is bringing together experts to create independent data-driven analysis on the current state of Iran’s economy and what its future could look like.

SGS Student Wins Marshall Scholarship

Alina Utrata, a senior majoring in history and the law, with a minor in human rights, will pursue a master’s degree in conflict transformation and social justice at Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland as a 2017 Marshall Scholar.

Looking back, Alina Utrata can pinpoint the moment she started believing in the power of international justice to address the legacy of human rights abuses and mass atrocities in post-conflict societies.
