Organization Profile: TechHub Riga is the first startup co-working space in Riga, Latvia and the center of startup community in Latvia. The coworking space for startups hosts more than 45 members, and many events including the largest monthly meetups in Latvia that bring together up to 100 people interested in technology and entrepreneurship. TechHub Riga is managed by 2 staff members and 6 board members – experienced entrepreneurs.

Work description:  

The intern can choose to help out at the TechHub Riga co-working space management at the position of an Events Manager Assistant, where he/she will have to help oversee the organization and smooth running of all workshops, meet-ups and other pop-up events taking place within TechHub Riga co-working space. This will include communicating with potential mentors and speakers for the events, communicating with the startups at the premises, launching events on our online social media platforms, promoting them and overseeing their execution.

The intern can also choose to participate in any of the startups and organizations within TechHub Riga premises. The role there would then depend on the necessity of the startup and would be matched based on the student’s application.

22 –August 14, 2020):    Fulltime/Five days a week

Additional desired intern qualification: The work will often involve communicating with people and thus require good communication skills and a social personality. The role taken within TechHub Riga is dynamic thus the student should be able to easily adapt to new circumstances, be open to taking up new challenges and be able to organize his/her own time independently.

City or Cities: 
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and coterms who are undergraduates in all majors, including undeclared. Coterm students must still have undergraduate status.
  • Applicants must be current Stanford students during the internship period. Seniors must postpone graduation paperwork until the internship ends, but may participate in commencement. For summer graduation requirements, including details regarding enrollment requirements and information about participation in the June commencement ceremonies, students should contact their major department's student services office and Registrar's Office for graduation quarter petition.
  • Preferably, before beginning their internships, selected candidates should have taken at least one course regarding the internship region. The course can be taken in the spring quarter.
