Internship Department:   AI Center & NLP (Natural Language Processing) Center

Department Profile:  AI Center & NLP Center are the R&D departments focusing on AI research. Their research covers a broad range of AI fields, including Game AI, Speech AI, Language AI, Knowledge AI, and Vision AI.

Work description:  

Interns will be involved in the following tasks (but not limited to) with mentors.

- To read research papers and discuss key ideas with colleagues

- To implement new algorithms (including debugging and testing)

- To perform machine learning experiments & analyze results

- To develop web-based demos and tools for research

(The fields of research include Game AI & Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, Speech Recognition & Synthesis, Data Science, Natural Language Processing, etc.)

Work Hours and Internship Start/End Dates: (Monday to Friday, June 22 –August 14, 2020):   

Flexible hours
- Independently managing monthly working hours (8 hours per business day)
- Daily working hours are flexible as long as total monthly hours are met
   * Employee must come into office between 7~10am
   * Employees must work for a minimum of 4 hours a day

Work Attire:   Casual

Local Language:   Korean

Required:  High levels of fluency in reading, writing, and speaking (three-year level and above).

Additional desired intern qualifications:

- Applicants with programming experiences in Python, C/C++, or Java are preferred.

- Applicants with programming experiences in TensorFlow, PyTorch are preferred.

- Applicants who have taken machine learning (or related) courses are preferred.

City or Cities: 
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and coterms who are undergraduates in all majors, including undeclared. Coterm students must still have undergraduate status. MA students in the Center for East Asian Studies are also eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be current Stanford students during the internship period. Seniors must postpone graduation paperwork until the internship ends, but may participate in commencement. For summer graduation requirements, including details regarding enrollment requirements and information about participation in the June commencement ceremonies, students should contact their major department's student services office and Registrar's Office for graduation quarter petition.
  • Preferably, before beginning their internships, selected candidates should have taken at least one course regarding the internship region. The course can be taken in the spring quarter.
