SGS Summer Film Festival: Abe
Join the Taube Center for Jewish Studies for a discussion around our contribution to the annual Stanford Global Studies Summer Film Festival! This year's theme is "Feeding Your Soul" and we have selected the 2019 film, Abe about a boy who uses cooking to unite his Palestinian and Israeli family members. After watching the film on your own, join us for a lively discussion and Q&A with Taube Center faculty: Charlotte Fonrobert, who teaches about Jewish food culture; Vered Karti Shemtov, who teaches about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict in literature and film; and Eitan Kensky, an expert on Jewish film.
Before the event, you can rent the film:
Please note that the Zoom link and password will be sent out to those who have rsvp'ed the day before the event.
