Diana Darab is the director of policy at Health Research for Action at the University of California, Berkeley. She wrote Moments and Memories,  a collection of bilingual poetry in English and Farsi.

With an eye on Jacques Derrida's philosophy of language, this lecture traces relations of contrasts and the possibilities of semantic and syntactic combinations in three texts: William Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury," Houshang Golshiri's "Shazdeh Ehtejab," and Alain Robbe-Grillet's "Topology of a Phantom City."

Part of the Stanford Festival of Iranian Arts.
