Wolfgang Kaleck, known as Edward Snowden’s lawyer, founded the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) in Berlin in 2007 and is the organization’s General Secretary. ECCHR is dedicated to protecting civil and human rights worldwide through legal means. Kaleck started his career as a criminal law attorney, and has since taken the side of mothers of those “disappeared” under the Argentinian military dictatorship, exiled Syrian torture survivors, indigenous people in Central America by pursuing the Guatemalan military for its massacres, and with those unlawfully detained and tortured at CIA “black sites.”
