Speaker:

What does it mean to be a transitional Muslim academic living a “nonwhite existence” in predominantly white institutions? Veiled Muslim professors Dr. Samah Elbelazi (Stanford University) and Lama Alharbi (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) share their experiences in poetic testimonies to highlight the struggles of underrepresented minorities in public higher education. They will discuss the research question that guides this inquiry along with the research design, results and implications to highlight the lack of healing strategies and resources of traumatized and endangered minorities.
