The Global Educators Network (GEN) will host an Educators Inquiry Meetup on the following inquiry question:

How do community college educators successfully implement a global studies program? What does success look like? How do they do it?

Ideas to explore include:

  • Building a global studies program
  • Navigating curriculum and articulation issues
  • Building student and faculty community
  • The changing landscape of global studies programs

Guest Speaker:

Professor Charlotte Lee teaches topics in Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Global Studies. She previously taught at Hamilton College (Department of Political Science) and was a Minerva Chair at the US Air Force Academy (Department of Political Science). She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University, where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. She was a John Gardner Public Service Fellow and US Peace Corps Volunteer (assigned to Romania). Her most recent publication is Training the Party: Adaptation and Elite Training in Reform-era China (Cambridge University Press, 2015). She is the Program Coordinator for Global Studies at Berkeley City College in Berkeley, California.
