The Center for Deliberative Democracy (CDD) is launching the first ever workshop series on Deliberative Democracy and Urbanization. The workshop series will discuss deliberative democracy consultations, using the method of Deliberative Polling(r), in China, Uganda, and Ghana.

The first workshop on Oct. 6th of this series will focus on Deliberative Polling projects in China. The CDD started working in China in 2005 and this workshop will discuss the projects, outcomes and progress of deliberative democracy in China.  The speaker will be Dr. Han Fuguo, Associate Professor in Fudan University. Director of Center of Comparative Research of Urban Governance in Fudan University. His main fields of interest are Labor Research and Social Groups, China’s Local Democracy and Political Participation, Local Innovation and Governance.

He will be joined by Professor James Fishkin and Dr. Alice Siu both of the CDD.
