Cultivating Humanity: Reflections on One Attempt to Create Community at an Independent Jewish High School in Silicon Valley.

A Jewish high school for everyone? A private school with meaningful socio-economic diversity? A college prep school that serves a wide diversity of learners? A high school in Silicon Valley that is serious about teenage stress and mental health? Could a small independent Jewish high school in Palo Alto be a model for independent, charter, and public schools throughout the Bay Area and beyond? Join us for a presentation and discussion about these questions with Rabbi Darren Kleinberg, Ph.D., who is serving in his seventh and final year as Head of School at Kehillah Jewish High School. Darren Kleinberg is Head of School at Kehillah Jewish High School, in Palo Alto, CA, and is a Visiting Scholar with the Concentration in Education and Jewish Studies at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. He is the author of Hybrid Judaism: Irving Greenberg, Encounter, and the Changing Nature of American Jewish Identity
