Speaker: Stephany Ursula Yamoah, Deputy Director of Dance, National Theatre of Ghana

Join the Center for African Studies and Akwaaba, the Ghanaian Students Association, to learn about the history of Ghanaian dance from Stephany Yamoah. A discussion will be followed by a dance workshop.

Stephany Ursula Yamoah is the Deputy Artistic Director of the National Dance Company of Ghana, National Theatre. In her 17 years of experience in the arts, she has filled roles as a performer, teacher, choreographer, manager, fundraiser, judge and activist. She holds a Bachelor's and Master’s Degree in Choreography from the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana. As Deputy Director of the National Dance Company of Ghana, she choreographs and trains Ghana’s elite performers. Additionally, Stephany organizes dance workshops and performances for schools and the local community, as she believes that the arts are a powerful tool for social change and education.
